Summary:

The Senior Manager of Marketing Communications will develop and implement strategy in five key areas:

 

Public Relations:

Responsible for creating and executing all aspects of the company's public relations strategy, both external and internal. Oversees development and implementation of support materials for marketing communications and public relations. Directs the company's communications and public relations efforts, and coordinates at the strategic and tactical levels with the other functions of the Organization.

 

Investor Relations:

Working closely with Leadership and the contracted Investment Relations firm, oversee an IR strategy that ensures we are properly positioning Globalscape to the investment community. Oversee all aspect of IR vendor management, including investor events, messaging, earnings scripts and calls, 10Q and 10K reviews, and ad-hoc IR calls and inquiries.

 

Analyst Relations:

Responsible for managing third-party relationships with industry analysts, such as, Gartner, Forrester and IDC, among others, who influence our customers buying decisions.  The Senior Manager of Marketing Communications needs to be technically competent and have excellent leadership and relationship management competencies. The Senior Manager of Marketing Communications develops and improves relationships and communication between the company and industry analysts by gathering and providing information regarding products, services, partnerships and vision. They will work closely with the Product Strategy, Product Management and Engineering Teams and manage the strategic dialog between key analysts and Globalscape leadership.

 

Competitive Intelligence 

Responsible for the development of clear corporate, competitive intelligence that will be used to assist in strategic decisions regarding new growth opportunities, competitive threats, risks and technological developments. Create actionable, strategic intelligence by assembling disparate slices of data from multiple sources and adding in-depth analysis. Assess the impacts of major competitor moves and industry shifts and provide leadership regular updates. Properly leverage various sources of competitive, market and business intelligence data. Create competitive messaging, marketing literature, and other competitive content for internal and customer facing use.

 

Social Media:

Develop and implement a Social Media strategy that builds a global community and drives engagement with that community across all applicable social media channels.

 

Essential Functions: 

 

  • Develop and monitor communication processes and internal customer relationships for information gathering, analysis and dissemination.
  • Work with Competitive Intelligence vendors to manage special CI research projects and coordinate with internal clients to assess their CI needs.
  • Conduct in-depth analyses of the current and future competitive landscape.
  • Monitor competitive websites and perform other research activities aimed at collecting public information that could affect current and future business.
  • Identify competitor strengths and weaknesses and develop counter tactics.
  • Anticipate competitive strategies and develop offensive strategies for Globalscape.
  • Responsible for outgoing analysis and conclusions; make regular presentations of findings to leadership and other client groups.
  • Create competitive battlecards that can be used by Partners, Marketing, Sales, and other organizations.
  • Gather, manage, present, and publish external information about competitors and their pricing and product offerings.
  • Plan and lead all aspects of communications from Globalscape to the analyst community
  • Develop, coordinate and present all appropriate content to analysts
  • Understand the competitive landscape, and fully understand each analyst's specific views and requirements and share the analyst input back to Globalscape internal stakeholders
  • Articulate Globalscape's value proposition and differentiators to the analyst community
  • Prepare key managers for presentations
  • Regularly monitor analyst research reports and distribute relevant articles and information to the leadership team.
  • Lead management of key influencer relationships
  • Responsible for creating, implementing and measuring the success of a comprehensive marketing, communications, and public relations program that will enhance the Organization's image and position within the marketplace and the general public.
  • Responsible for editorial direction, design, production, and distribution of all publications.
  • Act as marketing's representative with the PR agency and manage the third party relationship.
  • Responsible for the achievement of marketing/communications/public relations mission, goals, and financial objectives. Ensure that evaluation systems are in place related to these goals and objectives and report progress to the management.
  • Manage all aspects of the Globalscape Investor Relations strategy.
  • Manage all aspects of the Globalscape Social Media strategy.

 

Qualifications/Licensure: 

  • 7+ years' experience with proven success record in marketing, analyst relations, public relations, and competitive intelligence role.
  • Solid understanding of IT terminology.
  • Ability to balance, prioritize, and deliver excellent results under tight deadlines.
  • Strong project management skills with demonstrated ability to multi-task.
  • Experience sourcing and managing teams of external vendors or contractors.
  • Excellent Microsoft Office skills.
  • Strong conceptual thinker with ability to understand the "big picture" of the project and how it fits with the full consumer experience and business expectations.
  • Must have flexibility, good judgment and attention to detail.
  • Analytical skills.
  • Ability to work independently or cross-functionally within an organization.
  • Highly skilled at presenting and selling creative concepts to influence stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated capacity for strategic and critical thinking through a quantitative framework.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize and distill the results of complex intelligence and analytics to communicate to non-technical constituents.
