Job Summary

As a Senior Consultant, you will be part of the Professional Services team, responsible for delivering successful projects by providing skilled technical consulting, implementing technical solutions, assisting customers in translating business requirements into technical requirements and providing custom training to GlobalSCAPE customers. Travel may be necessary to deliver the high-quality service expected. This is a hands-on technical position that requires a flexible, motivated, self-directed individual with good problem solving who is able to comfortably communicate directly with executive levels as well as engineering personnel at customer sites.



For the position, you should be willing to work on a variety of tasks:

  • Assisting our customers to deploy Globalscape solutions remotely and/or on-site.
  • Develops, maintains and updates a library of technical documentation.
  • Performs advanced diagnostics and maintenance on Windows servers running GlobalSCAPE software.
  • Consistently follow up on projects.
  • Must drive ongoing projects to completion.
  • Responds to customer requests and stays current in the knowledge of the full range of company products and services and creates enthusiasm for new products.
  • Provides feedback to the company on customer needs, competitors, technology, and other pertinent issues.
  • Build and maintain good business relationships with customers.
  • Travels domestically and internationally as needed, 50% on a regular basis and up to a possible 75% of the time.
  • Demonstrates enthusiasm and commitment toward the job.
  • Keeps current on new developments and techniques in information technology.
  • Drives creation of internal and external facing assets for customer success.
  • Helping customers to automate processes to improve efficiencies and streamline processes.
  • Strong stakeholder management, including advising and influencing clients regarding process
  • Deliver effective workshops or training for client business users




Must have:

  • 5 or more years in a technical role (preferably software, SaaS, or Enterprise IT)
  • 5 or more years of experience with OS server management (Windows Server or Linux/Unix)
  • 2 or more years of experience working in a customer-facing role such as consultant, technical support or sales engineering
  • Exposure to Managed File Transfer ("MFT")  Technologies
  • Proficient on block storage protocols (NFS, SMB, CIFS)
  • Proficient on transfer protocols (HTTP, HTTPS, SSL, SFTP, FTPS)
  • 1 or more years of experience in networking projects (LAN and WAN)
  • Hands-on Windows Active Directory Administration and LDAP
  • Knowledge of networking concepts such as TCP/IP, Routing, ARP, DHCP
  • Hands-on network performance monitoring and troubleshooting (WireShark)
  • Working experience using security algorithms and concepts (SSL, TLS,  PKI, PGP, AES)
  • Hands-on using SQL Query language (Microsoft SQL Server or Oracle)
  • Hands-on scripting experience (PowerShell, VBScript or JavaScript)
  • Hands-on development experience with some of the following: C#, Python, REST, SAML, JavaScript, Por other API related technologies
  • Exposure to basic Web Development (HTML 5 / CSS)
  • Exposure to middleware (message queues, synchronous and asynchronous communications, transaction protocols)
  • Exposure cloud services using Azure or AWS
  • Exposure to different methodologies and approaches (waterfall, scrum, agile)


Nice to have (Experience or Certifications )

  • Hands-on any Managed File Transfer ("MFT")  Technologies
  • Storage, Networks, Firewalls, load balancers, SSO
  • Enterprise Security Standards (oAuth, SAML, LDAP, SSO)
  • Programming or Scripting, Webservices API  (JavaScript, Bash, VBScript)
  • Microsoft Certification (MTA, MCSA, MCSE, MCSD)
  • Cloud  Services (AWS or Azure)
  • Virtual Technologies (VMWare or Hyper-V)

Education Requirements
